PA Farm Show

Last week we visited the 100th annual PA Farm Show in Harrisburg.  We had so much fun seeing all the animals and everything else there!  Huge thanks to my mom, dad and gramma for going along with us!  It can be crowded and crazy but we went early in the morning and missed most of the crazy crowds.  My last memory of the farm show is from 1st grade when I went with my class at school.  My mom was a chaperone and I distinctly remember one little boy in my class being overly concerned all morning about his banana turning brown in his lunch bag.  And that's about all I remember, haha!
This is probably a bit of picture overload but I couldn't resist sharing all of these!

Each year they do a butter sculpture.  I have always seen pictures but seeing it up close and in person was pretty amazing.  I can't believe how much detail they make out of butter!!

To avoid crazy lines later in the day, we started our day (and morning) off with potato donuts and a strawberry creme milkshake.  The milkshakes are famous and this is was the first year that strawberry creme was offered.  I must say, I was a little disappointed in the milkshake but the potato donuts were probably the best I've ever tasted.

Sommer and Pa were buds all day - here they are watching some wool being spun.

We could not believe how HUGE the cows were.

We missed out on the horse shows in the arena but took advantage of the seats when we needed a little break.

 Buddies. <3

PA cow and my little cutie.

We loved looking around at all the big tractors and also enjoyed some samples of turkey hill ice cream.  All before lunch!  Sommer was in heaven ;o)

We tried to feed the sheep their hay but didn't have much luck.

We watched several sheep as they were being sheered - they are so beautiful after they get their makeover.

Sommer loved the bunnies - they were our last stop before heading out and she was so excited to see them.

We grabbed a black and white milkshake on our way out just to give the other flavors a try.  Much better than the strawberry and creme in my personal opinion.
We can't wait to go again next year and hopefully with Tommy and Annabel in tow!
