pretty in pink

Before Annabel was born, I was decidedly not a fan of the color pink.  But the minute the nurse told me that in 20 short weeks we would welcome a sweet baby girl, that's the only color I could think about.  Pink.  Pink hats, pink onesies, pink blankets, pink towels, pink everything.  All pink, all the time.  Just like that, I was a fan and have been ever since.  So although my pre-Annabel self doesn't quite understand it, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to knit something pretty and pink for my sweet pea. I finished up this little raglan sweater a couple days ago, and although it's a bit big this year, I think she'll enjoy wearing it on the chilly fall days to come.

The pattern is "Nell" from Junior Knits by Debbie Bliss and although it was really easy to knit, I had some trouble with the sizes of the sleeves. Before getting started, I knit up a swatch (the yarn is from Juniper Moon) and made sure to get the correct gauge, but after finishing the increases it said to work even until the sleeve measured 10 inches...and it was already 10.5.  And since I'm not very good at figuring out how to fix stuff like that (and also because I'm almost never in favor of ripping out perfectly good stitches...even for such a good cause as this), I forged on ahead telling myself that it would be cute with the sleeves rolled up a bit.  Next time I should probably figure out how to fix it.  Ah, well.  I think it is cute with the sleeves rolled up :)
