A few months back, my husband [ever the planner:] spotted tickets to a UMaryland basketball game being played at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore during the month of December. And since watching his alma mater play basketball is one of favorite shared past-times, he snapped up two tickets for us and four more for some friends. I was excited enough as it was -- but then it turned out that one of my favorite restaurants, the elusive Shake Shack, was literally right across the street from our hotel. WHAT?! Needless to say, we had a wonderful time at the game with friends (it was a blow-out win over Princeton) and a wonderful time eating the best burgers and cheese fries the next day.
