sweet summer adventures

I'm working on enjoying all the little moment of life and lucky for me, it hasn't been too hard.  In the midst of a little bit of chaos (last week was rough with Matt out of town and Sommer really, really sick) I have been able to find lots of little blessings popping up all over the place.
Number 1: my mom was here for several days last week while Matt was traveling.  When your baby gets sick and you freak out in the middle of the night it's always the best to have your mom there to calm you down. :o)
Mimi came to the rescue with Popsicle's, ice cream, new crayons and coloring books for the sick girl.

We took a trip to the Philly zoo a couple weeks ago and it was great!  It was hot so a lot of the animals were just hanging out in the shade but we got a close up of the tiger and a great show from the polar bear and giraffes so it was all worth it.  Sommer's favorite part by far was the carousel ride on the butterfly.  She loves these things.

We spent a relaxing 4th of July weekend with Matt's family in the Lehigh Valley.  After we put Sommer to bed on Thursday night, Matt and I ran out for a couple things and saw the most incredible lightning bug display ever!  It had just rained and they were covering the fields like I have never seen before.  I wish I had a picture to show just how amazing it was!  We also ate ice cream including PB&J ice cream pie, rode on the fastest carousel ever, watched fireworks, played with sparklers, lounged in the sun and played the best game of "farm" in the back yard with cousins.
 new outfit from texas!

This summer is shaping up to be one of the best yet!  What are you enjoying this summer?
