Theme Week: Homemade

Good morning! I just want to thank Chelsey for taking a moment to express our sympathy to the families involved in the horrific tragedy on Friday.  My heart is completely broken for those families and they will continue to be our thoughts and prayers for a long time.

..................................................................................................................................................
My craft this week is an old family Christmas ornament remade.  I would show you a picture of the originals but the picture I have is a little too dark to see.  They are little ping-pong head tree ornaments!  They were originally made by my Aunt T - remember her from the "how to fold your sheets" video?

So, first you will gather your supplies -
Several colors of felt, glue gun, scissors, ping pong balls, needle and thread
It also helps if you have a cute boy to craft with you...especially one who is super artistic...
Then, you will think about how you want your ping pong heads to look and then you will start putting them together.
*Disclaimer* I am so not artistic but this is my best effort.

Cut out your ping pong attire from your felt.  You can get pretty creative if you have it in you.  You will see how creative Matt was with his pong heads.

Add a hat or some hair to your ping pongs and be sure to cover any writing on the ping pong with this piece. You'll also want to cut out eyes, noses and mouths to add to your little guys.

Use your glue gun to attach all your pieces - careful, that glue is HOT!!
Making sure the hat fits just right
Making some changes to my first little girl pong head.
Next, you'll want to admire your beautiful (and somewhat odd) creations
Matt's - winter hat, ear muffs, ski mask with floppy hat

Mine - pigtails, headband, and scarf

Finally, thread your needle and take it through the hat, then tie the thread off to make a hanger for the tree.

Then, hang them from your tree and enjoy!

I hope you will consider making these simple, inexpensive and cute homemade ornaments!
Have a happy Tuesday!
