a little halloween

I just want to take a moment to thank all the men and women who are serving or have served our country!  We appreciate your sacrifice and the freedoms that those sacrifices allow us to have today.  God bless you and your families!

I know October and Halloween are long gone, and for some Christmas season has already begun (don't get me started on that...).  But, I wanted to share a bit about our Halloween this year.  We are not into the scary side of Halloween by any means - we just enjoy the fun, dressing up, eating candy and having fun with our friends.  This year, there was no question of what Sommer wanted to dress up as...who else but Elsa from Frozen!  Those Elsa costumes were hard to come by this year and although I'm sure I could have bought one for her, I decided it might be kind of fun to make one.  I also thought it would be nice to have something a little unique.  To Pinterest I went and found this beautiful dress and tutorial.  I ordered the majority of my materials right from The Hair Bow Company and the last few rolls of tulle that I needed I was able to pick up at A.C. Moore.

There were a couple hours before all of this that we did not think Sommer was going to put the costume on!  It was a struggle but we finally convinced her that it would be fun and of course, we ended up having a wonderful evening.
