Last Saturday we found ourselves with a free morning (something that happens far too infrequently around here) and even though it looked like rain and the wind was blowing, we decided to take a little trip to the pumpkin patch. We have been doing this every fall since Sommer was a baby and it has really become one of our favorite traditions.

Finding the perfect pumpkin is almost as fun as finding the perfect Christmas tree. My kids take this task pretty seriously at this point.

mission accomplished! |
We ended up being the only ones to visit the farm first thing on this chilly morning so we got a private hay ride around the farm and tons of room to run and play in the fields.
Later that weekend, we carved our pumpkins! It's always such a fun night. I just love watching these two scooping out the insides of the pumpkins.

We were so happy with how our pumpkins turned out - our best yet if I do say so myself.
Do you have any fall traditions?
