mini vacay

Happy (35, is it?!) Birthday to this beautiful lady! Can't wait to celebrate next week! We love you, Mom :)

Our summer vacation got off to a great start last week with a quick couple of days at the lake. We floated, we tossed a ball, Tommy did cannonballs off the dock, we went for boat rides, we sat on the porch and drank coffee, we spent time with family. It was the perfect way to relax after a crazy couple of weeks at the end of the school year. Today I'd like to share some photos, if you'd like to see.

As it turns out, my family is actually part fish. All three of them stayed in the water as long as possible every time we went out to swim. Thanks to six weeks of swimming lessons through his elementary school (and a few winters of them at the YMCA before that), Tommy has turned into a good little swimmer. He's teaching Annabel to hold her breath and put her face in, which she enjoys practicing over and over again in the shallow water. But put her float on her and she'll hop on into water over her head and swim like a little fish. Hopefully we'll get her a few weeks of lessons later this summer.

It's so peaceful down there. I'm glad we were able to spend a couple days relaxing by the water. Special thanks to PaPa and Jean for letting us stay!

Wishing you a great start to your week! We've got Mega Camp (VBS) at our church this week and then my cousin's wedding on Saturday, and then we're heading to the beach. Love summer!

P.s. I know we don't usually write on Tuesday's but stay tuned for a special post tomorrow!
