the method behind my madness

Happy Monday to you, friends!  For us, it's the last Monday of the school year and I, for one, could not be more excited.  I'm so ready for slow mornings, picnics under our big oak trees, afternoons by the pool, evening cookouts, and playing outside until dark.  I got a little taste of this type of schedule over the weekend as we spent time with a couple good friends who came to visit.  Coffee and pancakes for breakfast, a few poolside hours, lots of time outside, and cooking out on the grill two nights in a row is a pretty great way to spend a weekend if you ask me.

I know that cleaning supplies probably aren't high up on anyone's interest list...or let's be honest, priority list for that matter, but since everyone has to clean something at some point, that's what I want to talk about today.  The week before we moved into our house, I spent an awful lot of time at Home Depot and ended up buying a new supply of cleaning products to start fresh at our new place.  After looking through a ton of different options, I decided on Method.  I've bought their hand soaps and the refills in the past and am planning to get back to that once we use up what we have.  But I'd never used any of the cleaning products and decided to give them a try.  I wanted something that was easy to use, effective on all our surfaces, and safe for my family to be around with no harsh chemicals or smells.  And I've found it.  Here's what I've been using around the house...

Daily Shower
This and an old t-shirt as a rag have been keeping our showers nice and clean.

All-Purpose
The all-purpose cleaner is effective on grease and food stains on my stove top and gentle enough to use as a dusting spray on bookshelves and end tables.  A little side note:  that's the "Fresh Pineapple" painted on the laundry room walls.  It makes the room so happy!

Bathroom Cleaner
The bathroom cleaner works great on our tubs and toilets, and I also use it on the tile surrounding the master tub.

Glass and Surface
I use the glass and surface cleaner on our mirrors and sinks.  It takes all those toothpaste splatters right off the glass without a lot of scrubbing, and makes our sinks sparkling clean.

Wood for Good
I've used the wood spray in combination with a terrycloth towel (bought in bulk from Home Depot) attached to a Swiffer mop with good results on our hardwood floors.  After going over everything with a vacuum, I spray a small area, mop it up, and move on.

Daily Granite
And finally, the granite cleaner is perfect for wiping down our countertops every night after dinner and really does make them shine.

But the best thing about the method cleaners?  The smell!  The scents of mint, eucalyptus, grapefruit, ylang ylang (an essential oil that "is extremely effective in calming and bringing about a sense of relaxation, and may help with releasing feelings of anger, tension, and nervous irritability"), apple orchard, and almond have filled our home and made cleaning, dare I say, almost...enjoyable.  Almost.  So since cleaning is definitely not high up on my list of things I love to do, I thought I'd share these products that are making my life and my relationship to house keeping a little better.

Do you have cleaning products you love?  Have you tried Method's other products?
