Hello November

Oh, November.  You kind of took me by surprise this year.  Of course I knew you were coming when we got dressed up for Halloween last week but when I woke up on the 1st I didn't really feel ready for you.

I don't know about the rest of you but I kind of feel like November gets forgotten.  From the hype of Halloween to the excitement of Christmas; November and all that goes with it kind of gets left behind.  This year, I have especially taken notice to how our culture likes to rush us through the seasons, barely making it to the end of August before the Halloween costumes come out. Just a few weeks ago as I was soaking up mid-October and all that I love about it, I walked into a big department store and was greeted by red Christmas trees and holiday garland.  I was sorely disappointed because I just want to enjoy the season that I'm in.  I don't want to start thinking about buying my Christmas tree before I've had the chance to eat my Thanksgiving dinner.

So, November this post is for you.  With your beautiful colors, crunchy leaves, and picture perfect sunsets sent from above, I will recognize you each and every day.  And I will remember to be thankful for all the things, because I really have such a beautiful life to be thankful for.
