As promised, here is the recipe for my absolute favorite smoothie shake. Follow the directions or the perimeter of the collage for a quick and delicious breakfast. :) I hope you enjoy!! <3Carrie
-scant ¼ cup quick oats
-1 ½ tbsp. sliced almonds
-2 tbsp. liquid flax seed oil
-¾ - 1 frozen banana, sliced
-1 ½ - 2 tbsp. peanut butter
-1 ½ - 2 cups chocolate soy milk
-Add all of the ingredients into a blender or immersion blender cup and pulse until the mixture is at the desired consistency. One – two minutes of blending should ensure that the almonds and oats are well incorporated. I have listed some ranges in the above ingredient list. If you like a thicker smoothie, use all of the banana, less of the milk, etc.
-*Note: The benefits of flax seed oil are numerous (I have read that it can help fight everything from anxiety to cancer) but to be completely honest with you, it does not taste great. In this shake, the peanut butter does an excellent job of masking the flavor. If taking flax is not important to you, you can certainly omit this and add something like protein powder (or nothing at all).
